Jax

Authorities were called to his owner’s home on a complaint of harboring an endangered turtle. They found a dog, Jax, in deplorable conditions. He was of indeterminate age, maybe 2-3, and living in a cat carrier. He was emaciated, had a belly full of rocks and even more heartbreaking, no calluses built up on his paws because he was living in his own filth. He was completely unsocialized, craved no human contact, and was not housebroken at all. The only positive thing about Jax was that he took food from the hand so gently, that I can only guess he probably was beat every time until he figured it out. This boy has been with me for five years and is the love of our lives. He has come so far, and we are so grateful to be able to give him the life he deserves.
